After a complimentary coffee / smoothie we will depart for the start of the Buffalo Solider tour, a fun introduction to mountain biking in Chiang Mai and a chance to condition your body and mind to the terrain and climate in Chiang Mai. This trail is a fun mix of predominantly dual track with sections of singletrack to keep things fun.  Ride through some of the most stunning scenery of Thai highland jungle, experience the culture of Hmong Tribe in their village and stop for their fresh Arabica coffee that grows in the region, while overlooking the remarkable natural landscape.

The variety of trails allows for moderate to more experienced riders to challenge themselves with punchy hill climbs and blasting down in fast and flowy trails with just the right amount of technical for a fun ride.  Enjoy a delicious dinner and a comfortable evening in the city center accommodation, conveniently located in the old town.

Day 2 Absolutely stunning views of the mighty mountain, Doi Luang Chiang Dao

Start the first day with an exciting off-road drive to a remote trailhead at Sun Pa Kia where you will have the best view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao Peak.   After plenty of photo opps, gearing up and preparing the first part of the route begins with a few kilometres of steep hill climb along dual track surrounded by beautiful pine trees. You will follow a ridgeline high up on the mountain with great views all around and follow the ridge for several kilometers with sections of climbing as well as fun downhill.  After a snack and a drink in a tea plantation the adventure continues with more downhill fun along flowy dual track through thick bamboo forest passing Hmong hilltribe villages along the way.  Once we reach the valley we can hop onto a bamboo raft for a short ride down the river before a tasty lunch.

At the end of the day we will be spending a night in comfortable accommodation with stunning views of the mighty Chiang Dao mountain.  Enjoy a great dinner before relaxing and resting for day 3.

Day 3 Fulfill the thirst of riding on Chaing Dao’s best trail

The final day will be another physically challenging ride in the mountains surrounding Chiang Dao.   The ride will start on a double track trading path the villagers used to travel  along between villages to their highland farms, depending on the season you can try some delicious fruit that grows in the region such as lychee or orange and have a chat with some of the highland farmers along the way.

Challenge yourself with the rough but fun trail in the middle of a thick forest and stop for a lunch break on an old wooden bridge along the old smuggling route in an area that was once used for growing opium.  There will be some fun sections of downhill singletrack as we descend down the mountain towards Mae Teang district and pass through a variety of terrain, from pine forest to deciduous forest, bamboo groves and eventually farmland tended to by the Akha tribe.

Finish the ride with a refreshing cold coconut before stopping off for dinner on the way back to the city where the tour will conclude with drop off  the place of your choice.
